David Ernesto Munar
President/CEO

Appointed President/CEO in February 2011, David Ernesto Munar brings to his work more than two decades of accomplishments fighting HIV/AIDS.

David has worked at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) since 1991. He most recently served as the organization’s Vice President, with oversight and management of a $16 million portfolio of care, prevention, and policy programs and services. Throughout his career, Mr. Munar has worked in collaboration with colleagues locally and nationally to nurture innovative responses to the HIV/AIDS crisis. Read more

Arturo V. Bendixen
Vice President for Housing Partnerships

Arturo V. Bendixen also serves as a member of the Chicago Planning Council on Homelessness, on the Board of the Chicago Alliance to End Homelessness and is Executive Director of the Center for Housing and Health. Read more

Johnathon Briggs
Chief Officer of External Relations

Prior to joining AFC, Johnathon was an award-winning journalist and an urban affairs reporter at the Chicago Tribune, where he wrote primarily about gentrification, minority communities, HIV/AIDS and youth culture. Read more

Joe Hollendoner
Senior Vice President of Programs

In his role, Joe provides leadership in coordinating AFC’s work to provide those living with, affected by or at risk for contracting HIV/AIDS with innovate and effective housing, care, prevention programs. Read more

Vice President of Policy

John oversees the AIDS Foundation of Chicago's advocacy and policy work at the city, state and national levels. Read more
