Run & Walk Sponsors Fully Underwrite Event

Chicago Special Events Management and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago are pleased to announce that Chicago's Run & Walk for AIDS, on Sunday, September 23, is now fully underwritten. As a result, all proceeds raised by event participants will directly support AIDS prevention and care services through AFC's longstanding grantmaking program.

The Illinois Department of Public Health is the event's presenting sponsor. Abbott Laboratories, Target Corporation, Starbucks, WGN-TV, CLTV, BestCom, VoiceStream, Northstar Medical, Serono, Baron Von Scoot, AT&T Media, Discovery Health Channel and many others have also joined in support of the event.

"Generous underwriting by event sponsors will mean that ever dollar raised by individuals and teams will go directly to support desperately needed AIDS services," said Mark Ishaug, AFC executive director. "This is an incentive for individual runners and walkers to work even harder to raise money for the fight against AIDS."

AIDS organizations are also encouraged to make available information on their agency, its services, and upcoming events at Chicago's Run & Walk for AIDS Health Expo.
