Posters Available from Innovative HIV/AIDS Ad Campaign
In
its first work for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC), Chicago
Creative Partnership produced a dramatic print advertising
campaign in 2004 to bring attention to the continuing spread of
AIDS in the city and suburbs and challenge Chicagoans to help bring
an end to the epidemic.
At
first glance, each of the stark, moody ads appears to be promoting
high-end apparel, like trendy underwear and women's shoes. However,
instead of being branded with a designer's name, the fashion items
carry a single word, "AIDS." The headline on all three ads is the
same: "When will it go out of style?" Body copy describes AIDS as
a "tragic trend" and encourages the audience to learn their HIV
status, protect themselves, volunteer or donate to the prevention
effort.
New
York-based fashion photographer, Nicola
Majocchi, whose clients include Versace, Nike, Perry Ellis and
Cosmopolitan, donated his time and talents to the campaign, as did
the models who appear in the three ads. The CAPS Group, a leading
provider of pre-media and printing services in Chicago, and Bell
Litho, a full-service commercial printer, donated all of the
production services, including final printing.
Give
your feedback on the campaign.
