Testify on Need
for Increased HIV Funding
More
than 30 AIDS advocates gathered at City Hall on November 5 to testify
before the City Council's budget committee on the need for increased HIV
prevention funding. Earlier that day, 39 aldermen, led by Ald. Tom Tunney
(44th Ward), introduced an ordinance
calling on City Council to approve a $1 million increase in city HIV prevention
funding. City Council is expected to vote on the ordinance in the coming
weeks.
