Testify on Need
for Increased HIV Funding
More
than 50 AIDS advocates gathered at City Hall on November 1, 2006 to testify
before the City Council's budget committee on the need for increased HIV
prevention funding. A day earlier, 34 aldermen, led by Ald. Tom Tunney
(44th Ward), introduced an ordinance
calling on City Council to approve a $1.7 million increase in city HIV prevention
funding. City Council is expected to vote on the ordinance on November 15.
