As a peer facilitator at an AIDS service organization, you will lead a discussion about living with HIV and holistic health. You’ll listen and interact as members of the support group discuss protecting themselves from sexually transmitted infections, HIV re-infection and HIV co-infection. Your peers will also share how they dealt with disclosing their HIV status and how they practice safer sex.
You’ll learn about harm reduction, which consists of any positive steps you can take to reduce your risks if you use substances. We will also discuss other ways to maintain good health, such as eating well and exercising.
