What Is the Homesharing Program?
Homesharing is a program that aims to set up compatible matches between responsible adults who have extra space in their homes and those needing affordable housing to share expenses.
Who should consider participating?
Ideal participants are people who own their home or condo and have a room for rent. A Homesharing provider could also be a lease holder who is looking for a roommate.
What should I expect from a Homesharing seeker?
Homesharing seekers are responsible adults who are able to live safely and independently without the need for home-based services.
How will AFC help ensure there is a "good match"?
AFC will ensure that the Homesharing seeker has a documented income. Once this is verified, AFC will facilitate a compatibility meeting between the potential provider and seeker. After placement, AFC will maintain contact with all successful matches to make sure that both parties are living up to their financial responsibilities.
How do I enroll?
AFC will screen all potential participants by gathering proof of income and copies of valid leases or proof of ownership. People who would like to be screened as a potential Home Sharing Provider should call Ric Martel: 312-922-2322 x510.
