How will you Change the Story?

The story of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is one of inspiration, innovation and impact. For the past 25 years, we’ve worked to change the story of AIDS from one of despair to one of hope. But we can’t do it without you. Change the story with us.

What does it mean to Change the Story? It means working together to end HIV/AIDS in our neighborhoods, in our cities, in our state. It means joining a movement with others who are lending their time, voices and dollars to turn the tide of the epidemic – a “winnable battle,” as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Thomas Frieden, recently declared.

Every 9 ½ minutes someone in America is infected with HIV. Change the story.

An estimated 42,000 Illinoisans are living with HIV/AIDS – enough to fill the seats at Wrigley Field. Change the story.

More than 20,000 Chicagoans are living with HIV/AIDS. Change the story.

This year, AFC will continue to change the story by:

  • Providing case management and support services for more than 6,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in the Chicago area;
  • Educating tens of thousands of men, women and young people about HIV/AIDS, how to protect themselves and others, and how to access critical healthcare and support;
  • Advocating for compassionate HIV/AIDS policy and human rights.

Help us write the next chapter of progress.
