Agency FAQs

How do I add my housing program to the Housing Directory?
Adding your program to the Housing Directory is a two-step, simple process. From the Services Directory main search page, click on the link in the grey box that says "Register now". Complete the requested information about your agency's housing program and click submit. Within days, someone from the AIDS Foundation of Chicago will contact you to confirm this information, and to activate your account. Once your account is active you must log in with your new username and password. (Upon activation, you will receive a confirmation email that contains your username, which is your email address, and your password.) You will find the log-in link in the grey box on the Services Directory main search page.

I am already a member of the AIDS Chicago Community, do I still need to create a new username and password to enter information in the Housing Directory?
Yes. Your AIDS Chicago Community Member Name and password only allow you to post information to the Message Board, Job/Volunteer Board, and Calendar sections of the website. As a housing provider, you must go through the process of having your agency information confirmed by the AIDS Foundation of Chicago before being allowed to post to the Housing Directory. Your username for the Housing Directory will be your email address and the password will be that of your choosing. Your Housing Directory password may be the same as or different from your AIDS Chicago Community password.

Do I need separate usernames and passwords for the various housing programs that I want to enter into the directory?
No. You only need one username and password, and with it you can add and keep track of as many program listings as you need.

How often should I update the information regarding my housing program?
We hope that you will update your listings whenever there is a change in vacancies or other program information. Hundreds of individuals interested in housing use this site, so it is to your advantage to keep program information as up-to-date as possible. Doing so will lessen the number of inquiry calls that could be answered via accurate information on your program info page.

I'm leaving my post and will no longer be the Program Contact for my program listing. Should I pass on my username and password for the Housing Directory to my replacement?
Please do not share your username and password with anyone else in your agency. If you are leaving your position, please drop a note saying so to
housing@aidschicago.org. Also, please include the name of the person (if you have the information) who will take over your position so that we can set them up with a new username and password. It is important for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago to have up-to-date information so that we can keep track of program information and give users the best service possible.

How do I add my program to the HIV Services Search?
Because this database is powered through the Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN), you need to get in touch with the editor of the directory, Carlos Perez. His phone number is (773) 989-9400.
