Illinois is facing a potentially devastating budget crisis. Every community organization and public agency that receives state funding is facing huge cuts, meaning that many organizations may have to dramatically reduce staff and services, or may close all together, no matter what services they provide. Our state’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) has grown exponentially, and without adequate state funding, the program may be forced to start a waiting list or change eligibility requirements.

With a mounting state fiscal crisis, now is the time our community must rise up and defend the critical medical and social services that we have struggled to create. We must lead Illinois to a brighter day, and Rescue 2010 – Illinois HIV/AIDS Lobby Days will bring advocates from across the state to achieve that end.
