Thank You for 2008
You probably don’t hear these two words of appreciation nearly enough, so the AIDS Foundation of Chicago would like to take a moment to simply say, “Thank you.”

Just the Stats, Ma'am
The AIDS Foundation of Chicago has released seven newly updated fact sheets about HIV/AIDS. These fact sheets include statistical data about Illinois and Chicago from 2006, the most recent year for which complete data is available.
Here is a preview of some noteworthy facts:
• 1,556 Illinoisans were diagnosed with HIV in 2006. 51% were African American, 30% white, and 14% Latino.
• Gay men and men who have sex with men are severely impacted by HIV in Illinois. Male-male sex accounted for 4 out of 5 (82%) new HIV diagnoses among men, and over 2 out of 3 cases among males and females combined.
• African American women are the largest group of women in Illinois impacted by HIV, representing two out of three (66%) HIV diagnoses in 2006. READ MORE
