AIDS Foundation of Chicago internships are designed to provide practical applications of academic learning to qualified applicants. Internships are structured so that interns work closely with staff in their area of interest to gain a working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, learn how academic learning is related to a real world work environment, and to provide experience for those pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector.
AFC's internships have been designed to create focused learning experiences. Interns will learn about contemporary issues related to the work done at AFC, including how projects make a difference in the lives of those affected by and living with HIV/AIDS.
Internships become available throughout the year, and we work with those selected to accommodate each person's academic calendar and schedule to create a flexible learning environment. AFC requires a minimum commitment of 8 weeks consisting of at leat 15 hours each week, with some internships requriing longer commitments.
