Since 2005, the M•A•C AIDS Fund has helped the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) reach tens of thousands of people living with or vulnerable to HIV and AIDS through our advocacy, education, testing and outreach programs. Funding from the M•A•C AIDS Fund has supported critical initiatives like HIVHealthReform.org, HIV treatment advocacy and our National Female Condom Coalition, among others.
Founded by M•A•C Cosmetics, the M•A•C AIDS Fund is fueled by sales of M•A•C’s VIVA GLAM lipstick. The company dedicates 100% of their charitable efforts to HIV/AIDS advocacy and programs, and they’ve done this for over two decades.
Chicago-area M•A•C employees also raise funds for HIV prevention, care and advocacy by participating in AIDS Run & Walk Chicago every year. In 2014, the team raised over $10,000 for AFC and other community organizations working to end new HIV infections. M•A•C makeup artists also volunteer their time and talents to support AFC programs and outreach.
“M•A•C Cosmetics and the M•A•C AIDS Fund have made an incredible commitment to ending new HIV infections and supporting those affected by the epidemic,” said John Peller, AFC’s President/CEO. “They have made a big impact on programs that would be difficult to continue without their support. We love M•A•C!”
M•A•C’s employees are returning for this year’s AIDS Run & Walk Chicago, and we’re excited to have them join us! Donate to their team or start your own!
