AIDS Foundation Chicago (AFC) is pleased to announce the release of a funding opportunity for agencies interested in providing services to people living with HIV and AIDS in Chicago and the surrounding counties. AFC is accepting proposals for a variety of services with funding provided by the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). The grant period for selected awardees will begin in the Spring of 2023.
Service categories: Outpatient Ambulatory Medical Care, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Oral Health, Medical Nutrition Therapy, Medical Case Management, Perinatal Case Management, Corrections Case Management, Non-Medical Case Management, Legal, Food Bank, Home-Delivered Meals, and Housing. Eligible Respondents:
* Private for-profit entities may apply for these funds if they can adequately demonstrate that they are the only provider of quality HIV services for a specific category in the geographic area they intend to serve

AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is seeking reviewers to evaluate applications from agencies hoping to provide services under the Ryan White Treatment Modernization Act. AFC uses a competitive review process to make grant awards for community organizations. During the review process, experts in the fields of social services, HIV services, community development, and individuals belonging to communities disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS are invited to read and evaluate applications.

Review Panelist Expectations:
Time commitment: Each panelist will receive between three and five proposals to review over a one-week period.
Maintain confidentiality: It is expected that the names of applicants, their proposed strategies and fiscal operations are to be kept confidential by panelists during all aspects of the granting and review process.
Conflict of interest: Panelists cannot review proposal applications from agencies for which they are employed, have ownership interest, or participate as board members or volunteers. Panelists with employment, interest ownership or board membership of an applicant agency may be assigned to review panels in which their agency is not applying or currently providing service.
