Brandi G. Calvert is the Vice President of Housing Strategy at AIDS Foundation Chicago and the Center for Housing and Health. As a leader in the Housing department, Brandi focuses on departmental initiatives related to maximizing the amount of quality housing and supportive services available to community members experiencing and at risk of homelessness. She has worked in the public health sector for 17 years in community-based organizations and health care settings providing and ultimately managing service provision at various levels. Brandi’s work in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood providing direct services and health education to children with significant asthma and their families fueled her passion for public health. It was clear to Brandi from early in her career that lack of access to adequate housing and healthcare were among the leading causes and exacerbators of negative health outcomes for individuals, families, and the broader community. Before working in her current space, Brandi worked in a Federally Qualified Health Center that serviced people experiencing homelessness and living with HIV and other chronic health conditions. Brandi holds a Master’s in Public Health and Certificates in Public Health Policy and Promotion.
