Stephanie Townsell is a Senior Program Officer at the MIGMIR Fund, a faith-based family foundation, where she leads Chicago-based grantmaking and serves as a trusted advisor to community-based organization leaders. Her work focuses on supporting organizations across the South and West Sides that advance health equity through systems-level change and responsive community care.
Stephanie brings extensive expertise in HIV/AIDS and public health infrastructure. She previously led the HIV Surveillance Program for the City of Chicago and served as Director of Public Health at the American Osteopathic Association. In that role, she developed critical public health initiatives and continuing medical education for physicians, including training on safe opioid prescribing and addiction prevention.
Her professional interests center on advancing health equity, strengthening nonprofit leadership, and driving systems change through philanthropy. Stephanie holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and an MPH from the UIC School of Public Health. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH) with a focus on transformational leadership.
A long-time resident of North Lawndale, Stephanie lives in the community with her husband and children.
