AIDS Foundation Chicago asked the 2026 Illinois primary candidates for U.S. Senate, and Congressional Districts 2, 7, 8 and 9 for their positions on HIV and housing issues. The questions we asked ranged from whether they would support vital funding for HIV treatment, prevention, housing and research programs, to how they would address housing barriers, the ongoing opioid epidemic, and more. We encourage everyone who is eligible to vote to do so, and you can find your Illinois polling location here.

This survey was shared with all Congressional candidates in the 2026 midterm election primary ballot equally, as an opportunity to share with the broader HIV community how each candidate would address these urgent and pressing issues if elected to higher office.
